The book analyzes the path that led to the recognition of the applicability of the principles of good faith and legitimate expectations in administrative law. Preceded by a theoretical analysis of the affirmation of the principle of good faith in civil law, the research developed along the path that led to the overcoming of the incompatibility between public interest and good faith, before going on to analyze the procedural and judicial safeguards protecting the same. The second part of the volume focuses on the second element of the hendiadys and taking the comparison of the British and EU systems as its starting point analyzes those aspects that concern the guarantees provided by the legal system for the protection of the legitimate expectations of individuals with regard to compensation as well.
