The paper aims to focus the formation and conditions that characterized the Norman Expansion in the Latin Orient after the first crusade until the Hattin defeat (1187). A specific attention will be dedicate to settlement of familiar groups or individual of Norman origin (coming from South Italy or Normandy) in the principality of Antioch, founded by Bohemond d’Hauteville and afterwards strengthened by cousin Tancred. Main theme of my contribution will be the reconstruction of motivations that drives Norman emigration towards Outremer, and intend explore political and cultural relationships with other Occidental pilgrims, with Byzantines and the local population (Christians and Muslims) in the years of formation of Latin Holy Land (namely, the first half of XII century).
