This paper examines respect as a legal and scientific category in relation to gender medicine and medically assisted reproduction (MAR). Adopting an intersectional perspective, it shows how the apparent neutrality of legal and scientific models may generate indirect discrimination, particularly in healthcare contexts. Gender medicine is interpreted as a critical tool to reveal such asymmetries and improve equity in medical practice. Within this framework, respect emerges as an operational principle connecting substantive equality, selfdetermination, and ethical responsibility in legal and scientific decision-making.

Abstract
This paper examines respect as a legal and scientific category in relation to gender medicine and medically assisted reproduction (MAR). Adopting an intersectional perspective, it shows how the apparent neutrality of legal and scientific models may generate indirect discrimination, particularly in healthcare contexts. Gender medicine is interpreted as a critical tool to reveal such asymmetries and improve equity in medical practice. Within this framework, respect emerges as an operational principle connecting substantive equality, selfdetermination, and ethical responsibility in legal and scientific decision-making.File in questo prodotto:
