A 56-year-old male with fever and enlarged mediastinumunderwent examinations for lymphoma. He had back painand hypotension. Computed tomography showed a falseaneurysm of the aortic arch (Fig. 1a). Pathological aortawas excised. Reconstruction of the large hole on the aorticarch (Fig. 1b) with oval patch tailored from cryopreservedthoracic aorta was performed under hypothermic circulatoryarrest. Blood and aortic cultures grew Salmonella. Thepatient had uneventful recovery. One year later is freefrom infection.
