The purpose of this paper is to focus on the potential role and use of social media to influence sport promotion. Social media have profoundly impacted the delivery and consumption of sport. The opportunities and challenges inherent to social media practices in sport has catalyzed academic research in this area. Social media is changing the nature and speed of sport promotion. The objective of this study was to determine if a social media site is a useful method of communicating sports promotion. The survey was conducted in ten gyms in Campania Region during the period from January 2018 to July 2018.The results suggest that social media are tools for sport promotion. The survey shows that there are factors that influence the relationship between social media and sport. Given this, future efforts by sports scientists should be directed towards establishing and promoting a strong social media presence.
